AMITE, La. (WGNO) — Following a pair of escapes from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail last weekend, two of the inmates are back behind bars, but two others remain on the loose. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, it was a combination of human error and worn-out security equipment that allowed two inmates to escape on Saturday followed by another two on Sunday.
On Monday, both inmates who escaped on Saturday were back behind bars after they were located while hiding in a dumpster in the parking lot of a business.
But three nights later, two of the inmates who escaped on Sunday remained on the loose. They’re identified as Omarion Hookfin who faces a murder charge and Jamarcus Cyprian who is the suspect in a robbery case.
Deputies believe Hookfin and Cyprian are no longer in Tangipahoa parish. They’re also promising to bring charges against anyone who is helping them avoid recapture.

If you have information that could help deputies locate Hookfin or Cyprian, call Crimestoppers of Tangipahoa Parish.
So far, more than 460 people have been booked after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
