NOPD investigating theft of mail from USPS truck

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to find two men who are accused of stealing mail from a United States Post Office truck. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the crime happened a little before 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the 800 block of French Street in Lakeview. Police said that while a mail carrier was nearby in the 6200 block of General Diaz delivering mail to doors, two men pulled up in a white sedan then stole four trays of mail from inside the truck.

Police released security camera footage that shows some of what happened.
