NOPD searching for burglars who entered through ceilings

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to solve two, similar burglary cases. In each instance, the burglars are accused of entering businesses through the ceilings. The cases are the latest ones to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

The first case happened around 3:45 in the morning on Dec. 13 at a business in the 3200 block of North Galvez Street. Police released one image of the suspect who was recorded by the store’s security camera system.

The second case happened a little after 1:15 in the morning on Feb. 15 at a business in the 3200 block of Gentilly Boulevard. In that case, police released security camera video that shows the suspect walking through the business.

Police say both suspects got inside through the ceilings of each business, but the NOPD did not supply footage that shows either entry.

Police are not connecting the cases. Also, they did not disclose what was taken in the North Galvez location but say Bluetooth devices and at least one cellphone were taken from the Gentilly business.

If you have information that could help police identify or locate either suspect, call Crimestoppers at (504)-822-1111. You don’t have to reveal your name or testify in court, and you could be eligible to earn a cash reward.

So far, more than 460 people have been booked after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
