NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are looking to identify and locate suspects wanted in connection to a shooting and crash that occurred in the St. Roch area on Sunday, Feb. 11. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

The NOPD reported officers received a report of reckless driving and a shooting at the intersection of St. Claude and St. Roch avenues.

At the scene, officers said they didn’t find a victim but were later notified that a shooting victim was taken to a hospital in a private car.

Following an investigation, NOPD officials said the shooting came from the reported reckless driving.

They said a red Corvette, that was reported as stolen from Texas, was found crashed at the intersection of Urquhart and Music streets.

According to the NOPD, the car “was reported to have been operating recklessly at the intersection and allegedly struck numerous people.”

NOPD officials said the victim was helping those involved in the reckless driving incident when he was shot.

The NOPD reported an investigation determined that multiple people fired shots.
