The car where Henry Glover’s body was found

A member of the NOPD testifies he saw a car go up in flames and then saw two officers running from the scene.

The testimony came from Lt. Joseph Meisch on Thursday.

Meisch identified those two men as defendants Lt. Dwayne Scheuermann and Officer Greg McRae. Meisch also said McRae appeared to be laughing as he ran from the burning vehicle.

About a week after the fire, Meisch looked to see what was inside of the burned out car. He testified, “I shined the flashlight in and saw what I thought was a rib cage. It actually kinda scared me because it’s not something you see all the time.”

Meisch talked to Scheuermann multiple times about the incident. In 2009, Meisch says Scheuermann told him, “We’re not going to deny what happened.” Scheuermann also allegedly said, “Greg made a stupid mistake.”

Meisch said Scheuermann somehow found out he was talking to the FBI and would him questions about what he told the feds. Meisch said those conversations made him fear for his safety.
