NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)— New Orleans man, David Mora, surprised Princess Tiana with a gift from New Orleans while attending Disney World’s “This Is Magic” event.
The event gave media, celebrities and social media influencers a chance to ride the all-new attraction, “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” before it officially opens to the public on June 28.
This video was taken by Mora’s friend, Tracey Smith Hughes, at Disney’s Grand Floridian last week.
Mora met the character Princess Tiana of “The Princess & The Frog” and gifted her with a surprise necklace designed by Mora’s friend, New Orleans jeweler Cristy Cali. The necklace is part of Cristy Cali’s “Please Return to New Orleans” collection. The heart-shaped necklace read: “Please Return To New Orleans, Louisiana 504.”

Mora stated, “I thought it would be a nice gesture to bring our local Princess some lagniappe (a little something extra) from back home. Cristy and I brainstormed and found the perfect necklace to bring Tiana. As you can tell from the video, Tiana was completely surprised! She not only loved that the necklace said ‘New Orleans’ on it, but she loved the purple and gold bag it came in as well. Bringing Princess Tiana a gift was also my way of saying thank you to Disney for making so many dreams come true. If Disney can spread magic, so can we; it’s truly the New Orleans way.”
