NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A local woman got a big surprise Wednesday courtesy of Aucoin Hart Jewelers and Ralph’s on the Park.
The woman was gifted an emerald and diamond ring to celebrate a milestone for the restaurant and to help Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and Aucoin Hart Jewelers and Ralph’s on the Park recognize that.
“We decided to partner with Ralph’s on the Park to celebrate their 20th anniversary by giving away an emerald and diamond ring to a lucky winner,” said Marketing Manager at Aucoin Hart Jewelers Liesbeth Vigil.
“Basically, for the last month, any guest that came in and dined with us at lunch, they were given a card for free jewelry cleaning at Aucoin Hart, and if they took that card in, then they’d be automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win the emerald and diamond ring,” said Ralph’s on the Park General Manager Erick Schmitt.
Carol Wells is the lucky winner receiving the ring. She was chosen from over 700 people who entered the sweepstakes.
“The ring is valued at approximately $6,100. The ring has five emeralds surrounded by almost a karat of natural diamonds,” said Vigil.
Wells was dining at the restaurant Wednesday with her daughter and granddaughter when she got the surprise.
“It is exquisite and beautiful. I’m very surprised. I’m pretty much in shock. I’ve never won anything as beautiful as that,” said Wells.
During the jewelry sweepstakes, Ralph’s on the Park ran a lunch promotion where a percentage of each entree sold went to Children’s Hospital New Orleans for its new “Walker’s Imaginarium.”
“Ralph Brennan focuses his philanthropic efforts on Children’s Hospital and has been for nearly 20 years. It is a natural fit,” Schmitt said.
With this ring, Wells vows to be a friend to Aucoin Hart and Ralph’s on the Park for many more milestones.
