Introducing, the winner of the 2021 New Orleans Remarkable Women Contest, Ms. Bonny Barry.

Bonny Barry spends her days on Carousel Farms providing ‘horse therapy’–a unique form of counseling with the help of horses.

For the last 25 years, Equine Reflections, Inc has provided healing to those suffering with anxiety, abuse, and depression.

From personal experience, Bonny knows just how much a horse can help you through hard times

March is International Women’s Month and WGNO and NOLA38 are recognizing the great contributions that women have made to our nation and local communities. Remarkable Women is part of a nationwide Nexstar Media initiative to honor the influence that women have had on public policy, social progress, and the quality of life.

WGNO and NOLA38 celebrate local women that inspire, lead and forge the way for other women. It’s not just about one day or one month — it’s about what they do, day-in and day-out.

One finalist will be revealed each Tuesday in March, beginning on March 9.

Heather Benoit started “Beyond The Bell,” an after-school program for children from low-income families. These students have no access to technology, no food, and nowhere to go after school, but thanks to this program the students now have access to all of those things.
