Brother Martin announces search for new head wrestling coach

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Brother Martin High School announced Wednesday that Andrew Nicola will no longer serve as head coach of the Crusaders’ wrestling program.

In a release from the school, Athletic Director Mark Wisniewski said, “We would like to thank Coach Nicola for all of his contributions to our wrestling program. He has been an integral part of the growth of our young men on the mat, in the classroom, and beyond.”

Nicola joined the wrestling staff as an assistant coach in 2018, helping the program to three state and district titles during his five-year tenure.

He was head coach for their state championship finishes in both the 2020 and 2022 seasons and led several individual wrestlers to state and national titles.

Brother Martin’s search for a new head wrestling coach is underway.
