NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Delgado baseball responds from a 15-5 loss to Pensacola State College in game one with an 18-5 win over Bryant & Stratton in game two of their Sunday doubleheader.
The Dolphins trailed the Bobcats 1-0 in the bottom of the first after a solo home run by Odilio Cespedes. Delgado countered with seven runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 7-1 lead after the opening inning of play.
Delgado added one run in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, and seven more in the fourth for the 18-5 win.
Starting pitcher, Michael Hotard, threw all five innings and surrendered 6 hits and four earned runs. He struck out two batters in the win.
Delgado improves to 4-3 in the win.
The Dolphins will close out the “Rags” Scheuermann Memorial Tournament Monday at noon with a rematch against Bryant & Stratton.
