NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Delgado’s Culinary school is world renowned.

One of the school’s students is Kedonte Payton of Prentiss, Mississippi.

Mr. Payton started working in a fast food restaurant, and that peaked his interest in cooking.

Now, he is being trained by the best, and he says that will pay off.

“I did some research and decided to pursue my culinary career. So far I have succeeded, and it is a great experience so far. I have grateful all my Delgado teachers because they gave me the tools to succeed,”said Keydonte Payton.

Nine Delgado Community College Culinary students recently cooked at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, and they, including Mr. Payton, received rave reviews.

“We were positioned at five different restaurants on campus. They were just raving about our stuff. About our students, and their knowledge and what they were bringing to the table, as opposed to others there. It was very rewarding hearing that, says kitchen operations manager Dustin Brien.”
