(WGNO) – This season Belle Chasse quarterback Andrew Hicks went from being a shotgun spread offense quarterback to running the triple option installed by new head coach Stephen Meyers.

Hicks is making the transition more than work. In a 42-34 win over Brusly, Hicks rushed 21 times for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns.

“I just told him instead of running out the shotgun he would be under center,” Head Coach Stephen Meyers explained. “The decision making is a lot more on his shoulders because he checks at the line and things like that.”

With Hicks leading the way the cardinals are 3-0 on the season.
