Voodoo Athlete of the Week: ‘runaway bus’ Kenndall Bussey

(WGNO) – He’s a Nebraska commit with a ton of offers from others. And now he’s our New Orleans Voodoo Athlete of the Week.

Against Riverdale, Newman senior running back Kendall Bussey was a one man wrecking crew.

Bussey scored 5 touchdowns, including rushing touchdowns of 73, 9, and 41 yards.

Head coach Nelson Stewart said this year the “Bus” is even sturdier.

“Those are the things he can do. He can take screen passes all the way, runs well between the tackles. That’s the thing we see different this year. The best is still yet to come,” Stewart said.

Bussey also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jai Tyler, and returned a kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown.

“I knew it was a big game, Donte Jackson and Riverdale. Great game with great players. I knew I had to step up and be a big factor for the team,” Bussey said.
