CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) is down 300 referees for football.
According to the executive director of the MHSAA, Rickey Neaves, the organization normally wants 1,400 officials on staff.
Currently there are 1,100 and Neaves believes it has to do with COVID concerns, but also abuse from fans.
