NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Pelicans entered the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft with no picks and close out the draft with Kentucky’s Antonio Reeves.

The Pelicans traded two second round pick swaps in 2030 and 2031 to the Orlando Magic in return for the 47th selection.

Reeves was Kentucky’s leading scorer in the 2023-24 season, averaging 20 points per game while shooting 45% from beyond the arc.

He appearaed in 33 games last year and tallied 20 points or more in 20 games for the Wildcats. Reeves scored 25 points or more in 6 games, headlined by a 30-point performance against Louisville, December 21st.

The 6’6, 195-pound, Chicago native played five years of college basketball, two at Kentucky, and will turn 24 in November.

Antonio Reeves rounds out the New Orleans Pelicans’ 2024 draft class that includes Baylor center Yves Missi who was selected 21st overall Wednesday night.

NBA Free Agency negotiations begin Sunday and the Pelicans rookies can officially sign with the team Monday.
