NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Carver entered the postseason with its eyes on three-peating as state champions, but the Rams’ last hurdle, before returning to the Marsh Madness Final Four, was facing Tulane-signee Kam Williams and the LCA Knights.
Carver came off an 80-46 second round victory, but its matchup against Lafayette Christian involved a defensive slugfest in the first half. The Rams were up 19-10 at the break but scored 19 points in the third quarter alone.
Daijon Leatherman led the charge on both offense and defense: finishing with a game-high 18 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Carver beat LCA 54-37 and will return to Lake Charles to face the winner of Landry vs. Peabody.
