NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Saints are signing defensive end Chase Young to a one-year deal reportedly worth a fully guaranteed $13 million.

The news was first reported by ESPN NFL Analyst Adam Schefter.

Chase Young started his career with the Commanders, where he played 34 games in four years and tallied 75 tackles, 14 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles.

He was traded to the 49ers in October and registered 3.5 sacks and 23 tackles, 8 for loss in San Francisco’s run to SB LVIII (12 games).

Young comes to New Orleans as a former No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State who was an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl selection in 2020.

He is just 24 years old and gives the Saints an explosive pass-rush option on the defensive front that they’ve missed in recent years.

The Saints totaled just 34 sacks in 2023, a mark that ranked 28th in the NFL.
