NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two and a half weeks after parting ways with long-time offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, it seems the New Orleans Saints have found his replacement.

ESPN NFL Analyst Adam Schefter reported Friday that the Saints are “working to hire” San Francisco 49ers’ passing game specialist Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator.

It’s a move that’s expected to happen after the 49ers championship matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, February 11th.

Kubiak has been an instrumental part of a San Francisco offense that finished second in the 2023 regular season with 398.4 yards per game, third in scoring at 28.9 points per game, third in rushing at 140.5 yards per game, and fourth in passing at 257.9 yards per game.

Quarterback Brock Purdy finished as a top-five passer and NFL MVP finalist.

The New Orleans Saints offense ranked 14th overall with a rushing attack that was 21st in the NFL.
