HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — The Willow School defeated University Lab, 2-0 in the Division III boys’ soccer state championship Thursday night at Southeastern Louisiana’s Strawberry Stadium.
In the 70th minute, Willow senior Amos Liles assisted fellow senior Ellet Clum-Stockton with scoring the first goal of the game.
The second would come in the final minutes of play from Gabe Pizzolatto.
Willow senior Sebastian Salm was named Most Outstanding Player.
The win marks the end of what has been a miraculous run for the 17 seniors in the program who finish their high school career with an undefeated season as well as back-to-back state titles.
It was also the program’s third (2021, 2023, and 2024) under head coach Ben Barcelona.
