BATON ROUGE, La. — One of the top arm talents in the transfer portal will continue his college baseball career with Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers.

UC San Diego’s Friday Starter, Anthony Eyanson, announced on social media Wednesday night he was committing to LSU with the caption, “lets geaux.”

Eyanson emerged as the Triton’s Friday starter mid-way through the 2023-24 season and posted a 6-2 record in 9 starts (14 appearances). The sophomore right hander finished the season with 85 strikeouts in 82 innings of action with just 24 walks and a 3.07 ERA.

Eyanson is the latest portal pitcher to commit to LSU, joining Dallas Baptist’s Connor Benge, Nicholls’ Jacob Mayers, Indiana State’s Luke Hayden, South Florida’s Chandler Dorsey, Wofford’s Zac Cowan, and Mount St. Mary’s Deven Sheerin.

Eyanson will be pitching for the U.S. Collegiate National Team this summer.

Former LSU Tigers like Tre Morgan and Dylan Crews have played on the U.S. National Team in the past.
