NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — 16 days after suffering a left knee contusion, the New Orleans Pelicans provided an update on Brandon Ingram’s recovery.
According to the team, “Ingram has been cleared to begin individual on-court workouts and will gradually increase the intensity of his rehabilitation schedule.”
The Pelicans say that Ingram will miss the team’s next two games Sunday night against the Phoenix Suns and Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
A date for his return to game action has not been set.
Ingram sustained the injury after hyperextending his left knee in their March 21st loss to the Orlando Magic. He has missed the Pelicans last eight games.
The team is 3-5 over that stretch.
Brandon Ingram has played in 63 games this season, which is the most he has played in a single season with the Pelicans since joining the team in 2019.
Zion Williamson (left finger contusion), Jose Alvarado (right oblique strain), and Naji Marshall (left shoulder contusion) are listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Suns.
Injuries have impacted the Pelicans recent slump, with the team finishing 1-5 in their six-game homestand.
New Orleans entered the day 7th in the western conference standings with a 45-32 record.
