NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Saints have signed safety Tyrann Mathieu to a two-year extension, worth a reported $13 million dollars. The deal lowers Mathieu’s cap number for 2024. He was due to count more than $12 million against the cap.

In the past two seasons, Mathieu has started all 34 games for the Saints, recording 166 tackles, one sack, seven interceptions, 17 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

The former St Aug Purple Knight and LSU Tiger spoke with reporters Thursday.
