Motorcyclist thrown from bike in deadly New Orleans crash

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a crash that left a man dead on Sunday, June 9.

According to officers, at 6:53 p.m., a man was headed west on a motorcycle near the corner of Chef Menteur Highway and France Road when, for reasons unknown, he lost control of the bike and struck the guard rail.

The man was reportedly ejected from the bike, thrown over the guard rail and into the street.

EMS responded to the crash and pronounced the man dead on the scene.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing as toxicology results are pending.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
