A few strong storms possible to the north through Saturday evening

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A cold front to our north is slowly working its way south into the Florida parishes Saturday afternoon. That combined with daytime heating is triggering a few storms north of I-12. That trend will continue to be possible through midnight. The strongest storms could be severe with hail and gusty winds.

A more widespread rain chance comes as the front moves through early Sunday. However this will not be for everybody and the rain that does fall will likely not be too heavy. Expect breezy and cooler conditions behind the front on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will struggle to make it to the upper 60s.

Lower humidity and cooler air will filter in behind this front and it should feel nice by Sunday night. Pleasant conditions will be in place for the first part of next week before humidity starts to move back in. We will see lows in the 40s for northern areas Monday and possibly even Tuesday morning.
