NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Heat will continue around the area to start the week. Another heat advisory is in effect from noon to 7PM Monday as heat index values climb well above 100 for most of the afternoon.
Rain chances will be spotty today and Tuesday. Expect a few showers and storms to pop up mainly mid to late afternoon. Any rain that does develop will be after we reach the low to mid 90s, so the high levels of heat will continue.
Expect more of the same through Wednesday with low to mid 90s and hit or miss afternoon showers and storms. By the second half of the week rain will become a bit more widespread. This will keep temperatures a little bit lower for Thursday and Friday.
In the tropics everything looks quiet for the next few days.
