NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The heat will be the big story for one more day the way it looks right now as we see daytime highs in the low to mid 90s. Heat index values will once again be well above 100 so another heat advisory is in effect for the area.
Summer storms will continue to pop up Tuesday but in an isolated fashion. These will be mid to late afternoon and after most of the area already heats up. Like the past couple of days expect locally heavy rainfall amounts if you get one of these storms with possible street flooding. Temperatures will be dependent on cloud cover but we will likely see less than on Monday.
The pattern begins to change Wednesday as we see more showers and storms develop. By Thursday a weak boundary is pushing into the area that hangs out over the region through the weekend. This will mean higher rain chances for several days. That should hold temperatures down from what they have been recently.
