NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Cool and dry air has settled into the Gulf Coast region in the wake of a cold front that passed through on Saturday.

Heading into Tuesday, morning lows are forecast to drop into the mid and upper 30s across the Northshore with upper 30s to low 40s south. High temperatures will be a little warmer, topping out at around 67 degrees.

High temperatures should remain seasonal for most of the week, with low to mid 60s returning Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances are expected to remain low for the next few days.

Showers and storms are forecast to return Saturday ahead of our next front, with rain chances at 60 to 70 percent. The latest models show the wet weather moving in late Saturday through early Sunday, so some Saturday evening parades may be impacted by this next system.

The exact timing will continue to change some over the next few days as models continue to iron out the details to the forecast. Once the rain clears, cool and breezy conditions are expected Sunday afternoon.
