NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Much cooler weather is on the way by the end of the weekend as a cold front brings a late April shot of dry air. Expect daytime highs to remain in the 60s for most of the area and at the most low 70s.

Expect a few scattered showers ahead of the front on Saturday with the best chance being north of I-12 by the afternoon. There will also be some scattered showers and storms with the front on Sunday early in the day, although likely not for everybody. Recent trends show less coverage across the area than before.

Lower humidity and cooler air will filter in behind this front and it should feel nice by Sunday night. Pleasant conditions will be in place for the first part of next week before humidity starts to move back in. We will see lows in the 40s for northern areas Monday and possibly even Tuesday morning.
