WGNO

Chilly night ahead

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Cooler air has moved into the Gulf Coast region following a cold front that moved through yesterday.

High pressure has moved into the area, giving us calm conditions and clear skies. This will allow for temperatures to cool efficiently overnight. It will be chilly by Tuesday morning, especially for inland areas where a light freeze is possible for a few hours.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for Pearl River County, Washington Parish, and the northern half of Tangipahoa Parish from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m. Sensitive vegetation may need to be protected. Further south, it will be slightly warmer with morning lows in the low 40s.

Tuesday expect mostly clear skies with highs in the low to mid 60s. Look for highs around 70 for a nice day on Wednesday. Rain chances increase Thursday into Friday, with about a half-inch of rainfall expected. The weekend looks promising, with mostly clear skies and highs in the mid 70s.
