NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Get ready for another round of cold weather through the weekend.
A hard freeze warning is in effect for Friday night to Saturday morning for the northern half of our area. This is where we expect to see temperatures down into the low 20s for several hours. Once again you will need to cover pipes and faucets along with any sensitive plants.
The southern half of the area is under a freeze warning for the same time frame. These are areas that will see upper 20s to low 30s. So while not a hard freeze, it will still be cold enough to cause damage to plants. Remember to protect the pets as well.
We also have a wind chill advisory over the northern half of the area through Saturday morning. The feels like temperatures could reach into the low teens and even single digits overnight Friday night.
We warm above freezing each afternoon but stay cool. Highs over the weekend will only reach the mid to upper 40s.
Expect warmer but wetter weather through much of next week. Rain chances move back in on Tuesday and continue through most of the week.
