Cold start Monday, warming up later in the week

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Good Morning, New Orleans! After a soggy Saturday, the weather was much better Sunday with sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s.

We are waking up today to some quick, passing showers across the area. Winds are in the teens, making it feel colder, as well! Grab that rain jacket before heading out the door!

Expect a mix of clouds and sun on Monday with high temperatures a little cooler, only topping out in the upper 50s. Winds may be breezy at times with gusts up to about 20 mph.

Temperatures will gradually rise throughout the week, hitting the mid 70s by Friday. The warm weather should stick around through Sunday before another weak cold front moves across the region.

Rain chances are forecast to increase to 50 to 60 percent over the upcoming weekend, but it is still too early to know the timing of when the wet weather may arrive.
