NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Good Morning and a Happy Thursday! Much cooler weather will continue to filter in behind a cold front that came through Wednesday night. Winds will continue in the teens gusts in the 20s at times, especially along the south shore.

Thursday afternoon will also be chilly in comparison to the past week with highs only in the upper 50s and low 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

Friday will be slightly warmer as highs rebound into the mid and upper 60s. Rain chances are also forecast to increase Thursday night into Friday with an unsettled weather pattern setting up along the Gulf Coast through early next week. Most of that rain is gone by Friday afternoon.

Friday appears to have the highest rain chance with the most widespread coverage. Over the weekend, hit or miss activity will be possible as temperatures warm back into the 70s.
