NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Much cooler weather will continue to filter in Wednesday evening behind a cold front. Look for temperatures to fall into the 50s across the area by 10 PM. Winds will be blustery with gusts in the 20s and 30s.

Lows Thursday will drop into the mid 40s north and low 50s south. Thursday afternoon will also be chilly in comparison to the past week with highs only in the upper 50s and low 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

Friday will be slightly warmer as highs rebound into the mid and upper 60s. Rain chances are also forecast to increase Thursday night into Friday with an unsettled weather pattern setting up along the Gulf Coast through early next week. Most of that rain is gone by Friday afternoon.

Friday appears to have the highest rain chance with the most widespread coverage. Over the weekend, hit or miss activity will be possible as temperatures warm back into the 70s.
