NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Residents across the northern Gulf Coast should be prepared for daily showers and thunderstorms over the coming days.
Any thunderstorms that develop have the potential to bring heavy downpours, which could lead to isolated flooding in some areas. The good news is that these storms will help keep temperatures slightly cooler, reducing the likelihood of heat advisories.
Expect a daily pattern of rainfall, particularly during the afternoon hours. Early morning storms near the coast are also possible. Each day, there is a chance of waterspouts, most likely in the morning.
Over the weekend, moisture levels will gradually increase across the region. With high temperatures in the mid 90s, heat index values or “feels like” temperatures will be in the upper 100s and low 110s by Sunday.
