NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A beautiful Wednesday is underway across the Gulf Coast with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s.
A weak cold front will move through today, so high temperatures are expected to be a little bit cooler in the low 60s Thursday. Then, we will quickly warm back up to the upper 60s on Friday for a nice end to the week.
Showers and storms are forecast to return Saturday ahead of our next front, with rain chances at 60 to 70 percent. There are still some timing issues this far out, but at this point the second half of the day Saturday is looking soggy. Some of the rain could be locally heavy. It does look like this system is slowing some so we may be able to extend the dry period Saturday for a little longer.
Once the rain clears, cool and breezy conditions are expected Sunday afternoon. Expect a few lingering showers to wrap around this system Sunday and Monday, but nothing heavy.
