Tropical storm Erika remains a weak system Thursday morning and has drifted further west. The northwest part of the center is exposed due to dry air and wind shear and that is preventing it from strengthening. We are going to watch this closely over the next few days. The track of the storm has shifted a bit this morning and if the storm remains weak it will be less likely to curve to the north as soon as the current forecast predicts. -Hank Allen
