NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We haven’t seen 90 degrees in New Orleans for a high temperature since October 4th of 2023. That could change over the next couple of days ahead of a much needed cold front Friday morning. Tuesday is going to be a carbon copy of Monday with warm and muggy conditions through the day. Look for a southerly breeze around 15. A few sprinkles or a brief shower will be possible but not likely. The best chance will be along and west of I-55.

With enough sun highs could reach 90 in parts of the area both Wednesday and Thursday. Heat index values will be approaching 100.

We are watching the potential for a cold front on Friday which could bring in some lower humidity and cooler air by the weekend. Expect some scattered showers and storms with the front. Right now it looks like this comes in late Thursday night to early Friday.

A few stronger storms are possible as the front moves through but there are still a lot of questions on that. Either way it does look like we will see much lower humidity for the weekend.
