Flash Flood Warning for New Orleans metro until 9:30 p.m. Saturday

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Jefferson, Orleans, and St. Bernard Parishes until 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

The warning was issued after radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warning area where 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include New Orleans, Metairie, Jefferson, Harahan, Elmwood, Kenner, River Ridge, Arabi, Chalmette, and Algiers.

The City of New Orleans announced Saturday afternoon that neutral ground parking will be allowed until 6 a.m. on Sunday. However, no parking is permitted on St. Charles Avenue or Napoleon Avenue due to Mardi Gras parades.
