NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Heavy rain continues to fall across the south shore including the immediate New Orleans area leading to flooded streets Friday evening. Street flooding has been reported in several locations around the city.
A flash flood warning is in effect until 9:45PM. Heavy rain will be slow to dissipate over the next two hours with additional flooding possible.
These storms are not moving and will continue to produce very heavy rain until they fade out. Avoid traveling through water covered roads and flooded areas. The risk is greater at night when it’s hard to tell how deep the water may be.
