NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A few showers will be possible through the evening on Friday but overall rainfall amounts will remain light. Most of the area avoids rain this evening although it would still be a good idea to have an umbrella handy.

Expect fog to develop across the area again later this evening and tonight as warm and humid air continues to sit across the area. A dense fog advisory is in effect until noon Saturday. Please be careful if traveling tonight.

We have one more round of rain and storms to get through before drying out. That will move across the area with the front on Saturday morning. Locally heavy downpours will be possible along with an isolated strong to severe storm.

Once the line pushes through we will finally dry out for several days. Expect mid to upper 60s Saturday but only upper 50s on Sunday. Most of next week will be dry and pleasant.
