NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Tuesday is looking a lot like Monday with hot conditions and another heat advisory in effect. Look for highs of 92-95 across the area. Heat index values will quickly reach 100 by mid to late morning and top out in the 105-110 range by early afternoon.
Rain chances will be spotty and Wednesday. Expect a few showers and storms to pop up mainly mid to late afternoon. Any rain that does develop will be after we reach the low to mid 90s, so the high levels of heat will continue. These won’t move much so expect locally heavy rain amounts with any downpours.
By the second half of the week rain will become a bit more widespread. This will keep temperatures a little bit lower for Thursday and Friday as rain chances increase to 60%.
As always stay hydrated and try to take frequent breaks from the heat if outside.
