On Tuesday, March 23, strong thunderstorms began moving into the New Orleans metro area. Damaging winds and heavy rain potential may last through Friday.
The following road closures have been confirmed on Wednesday morning:
Evangeline Parish
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- U.S. 167 is closed approximately two miles south of Ville Platte due to high water.
Lafourche Parish
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- LA 308 closed from Percy Brown Road to St. Charles By-Pass Road
- US 90 East Exit Ramp to LA 182 is closed
Orleans Parish
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- Lake Forest Blvd.
High Water / Passable with Caution:
- Dauphine/Iberville
- Heritage Ave. to Expressway in Terry Parkway
- 2100 Royal
- 2100 Dauphine
- Tchoupitoulas/Louisiana
- Paris/Gentilly
- Oak/Carrollton
- Poydras/Camp
- Westbank Expressway near Stumpf
St. Charles Parish
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- Bayou Gauche Rd @ 3951 Bayou Gauche Rd. (Approx. ½ down the island)
- Evangeline Rd., Montz from Airline to 2nd Railroad tracks
- Paul Frederick St., Luling
- Kinler St., Luling
- LA 306, from Frickey Lane to end of road, in Bayou Gauche
High Water / Passable with Caution:
- Willowdale Blvd. @ Hwy 90, Luling
- Barton Ave. @ LA18, Luling
- LA18 from Barton Ave. to I-310, Luling
Tensas Parish
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- LA 3078 closed until further notice
Thibodaux
CLOSED Due to High Water:
- E. Plater Drive (Acadia Woods Subdivision)
- Louise Street (Between Talbot Avenue & Plantation Road)
