NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A line of rain and storms is moving across the central part of the state Monday morning and will make it to our area by late morning through early afternoon. Locally heavy rain will be possible along the leading edge of storms along with the threat of severe wind gusts. A brief spin-up tornado can’t be ruled out but the overall threat seems low.

Have a way to get warnings later this morning in case one is issued for your area.

Once the initial line moves through we will see lingering light to moderate rain through the afternoon.

The next few days look mainly rain free with just a spotty shower possible Tuesday and Wednesday. Look for temperatures to be in the 70s this afternoon after the rain begins. Mid 80s return for highs Tuesday through the rest of the week.
