NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Rain chances will stay low over many areas through the middle of the week. The current pattern of these storm clusters will continue to bring them down towards the area. However a lot will be weakening by the time they arrive.

Models are basically useless in this pattern. Sometimes they pick up on storm development moving in and sometimes they don’t. In general it will come down to how strong each cluster is as to whether or not it can push into the area or fade out before.

The track has shifted slightly to the north. That combined with the weakening will keep most of the rain to areas north of I-12. That’s not to say we couldn’t see a stronger complex bring rain farther south, but in general that has a small chance of happening. Strong wind gusts will still be possible as these move in.

Temperatures will top out around 90 through Thursday with southerly breezes around 15.
