NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Rain looks unavoidable Saturday which will create issues during the afternoon and evening parades. In the near term the forecast looks great for Friday. Expect plenty of sun and temperatures topping out near 70.

Showers and storms are forecast to return Saturday ahead of our next front, with rain chances high by late in the day. There could be a few showers that move through late morning to early afternoon but the main line will move in later. Right now we will likely see rain hold off until at least 4-5PM, with locally heavy downpours possible after that. Expect some blustery conditions with winds out of the southeast at 10-20 by the afternoon.

Once the rain clears, cool and breezy conditions are expected Sunday afternoon. Expect a few lingering showers to wrap around this system Sunday and Monday, but nothing heavy.
