NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We will see beautiful conditions for the parades Friday evening but a different story for Saturday. Enjoy the next few hours as we round out the day.

Showers and storms are forecast to return Saturday ahead of our next front, with rain chances high by late in the day. It looks like we see the initial wave of rain late morning. This rain will not be overly heavy but certainly a nuisance if you are standing out in it.

Right now we will likely see the heavier rain hold off until at least 4-5PM, with locally heavy downpours possible after that. Expect some blustery conditions with winds out of the southeast at 10-20 by the afternoon. Some areas could see gusts approaching 30. There won’t be much thunderstorm activity with this over the parades which is good, but it’s still going to be unpleasant.

Once the rain clears, cool and breezy conditions are expected Sunday afternoon. Expect a few lingering showers to wrap around this system Sunday and Monday, but nothing heavy. We start to warm up again next week.
