NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Clouds are increasing as expected Thursday night ahead of the next storm system. This will keep temperatures warmer tonight into Friday morning.

Right now it looks like we will see some showers Friday into early Saturday. However the main part of this system will stay offshore, so we see a lot less rain overall than we have with the past couple of chances. Expect spotty activity for the first half of Friday and then better coverage Friday afternoon and Friday night.

This does bring cooler air back into the area for the weekend though. Highs will be in the mid 60s Friday but only in the 50s Saturday and Sunday, and overnight lows will approach freezing in the northern areas by Sunday or Monday morning.
