The National Hurricane Center upgraded Tropical Depression #13 in the Eastern Atlantic Tuesday morning to Tropical Storm Lisa, our 12th named Tropical system above a depression this hurricane season. Much like Tropical Storm Karl that formed on September 16th, Lisa will be another system that formed far enough East that it will wind up making it’s northward turn long before reaching the United States, however Tropical Storm Karl will make a Northeastward turn possible hurricane and may impact Bermuda significantly.
As of Tuesday afternoon Tropical Storm Lisa has a central minimum pressure of 1007mb, and maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It is morning Northwest already at 12 mph. Lisa is located 430 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands near the West coast of Africa.
The next name in the 2016 Hurricane Season will be Matthew. Hurricane Season continues through November 30th.
