NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The National Hurricane Center has officially named its 6th tropical storm of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Fiona developed enough thunderstorm activity Wednesday afternoon to become at Topical Storm.
WGNO Meteorologist Martha Spencer says Fiona is moving northwest at 15mph.
Fiona, however, is expected to stay in the out in the ocean for the next five days and is no threat to land.
