NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Good Morning, New Orleans! We have officially welcomed spring but it’s chilly again to start out this morning. Overnight lows remain in the upper 30s north and low to mid 40s south.
An upper-level ridge of high pressure moving in from the west will counter some of the cooling effects, keeping morning lows slightly warmer than we experienced Tuesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures should return to around normal for this time of the year with a high near 70. Another perfect forecast for Wednesday at the Square!
Meanwhile, a disturbance centered over Southern California is heading our way. Models are in close agreement that this system will move across the Lower Mississippi Valley late Thursday into Friday, bringing showers and thunderstorms along with it. While severe weather isn’t highly likely, we’ll be keeping an eye out, especially along the Louisiana coastline, where warmer temperatures could aid in storm formation.
Looking ahead to the weekend, expect calm weather as the disturbance moves eastward. Temperatures will be near or slightly above normal, and no rain is expected. It looks like a perfect weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities!
